"Mattress protector" was invented by Martasz Smith (Chicago).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mattress protector is provided herein. In example embodiments, a mattress protector includes a waterproof sheet attached to at least one strap removably couplable to itself. The waterproof sheet includes at least one fabric section having a top surface configured to engage with an adhesive of an underpad."
The patent was filed on Oct. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/496,398.
