ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,576,319, issued on March 17.
"Sound-dampening pad for a paddle" was invented by Dan Rinicella Sr. (Aurora, Ohio) and Timothy S. Garner (Medina, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sound-dampening pad for a paddle used in a paddle sport that uses a ball, the pad including a cushion material disposed on a first side of the pad; an adhesive disposed on a second side of the pad configured to attach the pad the paddle; wherein the cushion material reduces the sound of the paddle striking the ball."
The patent was filed on July 3, 2024, under Application No. 18/763,565.
