"Canna plant named 'SAACAN01'" was invented by Azriel Assaf (Kibbutz Saad, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Canna plant named 'SaaCan01' is disclosed, characterized by colorful striped foliage and a red flower. The new cultivar is a Canna, typically produced as an outdoor ornamental plant."

The patent was filed on Sept. 24, 2025, under Application No. 19/339,045.
