US Patent Issued on July 28 for "Elastic safety drink cover" (Florida Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,690,707, issued on July 28.

"Elastic safety drink cover" was invented by Jhoann Gonzalez (Miami).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A safety cover for a drink to prevent tampering, comprising a long cylindrical body that stretches over a drink glass in a way that is difficult to remove, high-friction features to make the cylindrical body even harder to remove from the glass, and a small opening for drinking or straw insertion that is difficult to use for unauthorized tampering of the drink."

The patent was filed on Dec. 11, 2024, under Application No. 18/976,783.
