ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,685,923, issued on July 21.

"Lottery ticket pack verification system and method" was invented by Timothy Endicott (Reno, Nev.) and Madhu Prakhya (San Ramon, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lottery ticket pack verification system and method for simultaneously scanning a plurality of picked lottery ticket packs and for determining if the scanned lottery ticket packs are the correct lottery ticket packs based on a lottery ticket pack pick list."

The patent was filed on Sept. 1, 2022, under Application No. 17/929,064.
