"Bollard cord retractor" was invented by Christopher S. Whitney (Montgomery, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Bollard cord retractors include a bollard having at least one hollow cavity extending through at least a portion thereof, a force retractor positioned within the hollow cavity, the force retractor including at least one of a linear force retractor or a rotational force retractor; and a retraction line attached at a first end to the force retractor and attached at a second end to a charging cord of a charger."
The patent was filed on July 28, 2022, under Application No. 17/876,360.
