According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system may be used to secure an ilium to a sacrum. The system may include an implant configured to pass through an access pathway to an implantation site between the ilium and the sacrum. The system may also include one or more anchors that are deployable outward from the implant and into the sacrum and/or the ilium proximate the implant to retain the implant relative to the ilium and/or the sacrum."
