According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of intersectional hybrid (Itoh) Paeonia plant named 'Smithopus4' is disclosed, characterized by large lemon-yellow flowers with slight red streaks which are semi-double to fully double form and carried on strong stems, which present the flowers above and beyond the foliage.
