ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,541,121, issued on Feb. 3.
"Eyewear with engageable protective shield" was invented by Ken Wilson (Yuma, Ariz.) and Rich Belitz (Yuma, Ariz.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An eyeglass frame configured to hold corrective lenses therein is removably engageable with a protective lens. The protective lens has connectors on opposing ends which are engageable with first and second mounts engaged to the frame. A gap is formed between the protective lens and the front surface of the frame and is maintained by the engagement of the connectors with the respective mounts."
The patent was filed on April 15, 2024, under Application No. 18/636,154.
