According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A nail clipper assembly, including a hollow body accommodating a nail clipping mechanism which includes a pair arms, each terminating in a blade, such that a gap is formed between the blades. A button is disposed in a portal in the body and is depressible from the exterior of the hollow body. The button engaging one of the arms, and depression of the button reduces the gap between the blades.
