According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A notch cutter according to the present invention generally comprises a cutting head driven by a motor to cut a notch parallel to the wood grain of a board. The board is held in place by a board frame, while wood shavings are funneled away from the notch cutter through an exhaust.
