ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,544,454, issued on Feb. 10.

"Reduced graphene oxide (rGO) based drug carrier systems" was invented by Yasemin Yuksel Durmaz (Istanbul) and Erhan Demirel (Istanbul).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is related to reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanoplatforms coated with a methacrylate-based copolymer and the methods used in the preparation of these platforms for use as a drug carrier system."

The patent was filed on Dec. 24, 2021, under Application No. 18/259,346.
