According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An aqueous micro shunt for treating dry eye syndrome comprises an axially oriented shaft, for insertion through a scleral wall portion of an eye and into an anterior chamber of the eye, and having an open distal end adapted to be fluidically connected to aqueous humor contained within the anterior chamber of the eye.
