According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An adjustable orthodontic assembly for orthodontic alignment of teeth includes a base that may be adhered to a tooth in a person's mouth. A retention unit is removably coupled to the base. The retention unit has a wire slot therein to engage a wire thereby facilitating the retention unit to selectively tighten the wire.
