US Patent Issued on Aug. 4 for "Compositions of fluorinated fluids and fluorinated surfactants with densities near unity" (Florida Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,698,363, issued on Aug. 4.

"Compositions of fluorinated fluids and fluorinated surfactants with densities near unity" was invented by Roberto Laos (Gainesville, Fla.) and Steven Benner (Gainesville, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention provides combinations of fluorinated oils and fluorinated surfactants that have densities of approximately unity (1.0plus-minus0.1 kg/liter), where the combination allows the surfactant to dissolve (at least) to 1-2% level (by volume) in the oil."

The patent was filed on June 8, 2022, under Application No. 17/835,289.
