ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,703,978, issued on Aug. 11.

"Wind resistant rain gutter assembly for creating perimeter vertical air barriers" was invented by Thomas L. Kelly (Waterbury, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A gutter assembly for a structure includes a channel having a hollow interior and a lower attachment member connectable to the structure. The lower attachment member is affixed to a lower surface of the channel and extends continuously over a length of the channel."

The patent was filed on Aug. 25, 2023, under Application No. 18/456,088.
