ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,606,725, issued on April 21.

"Adhesive tape roll with color-changing dye" was invented by David Franklin Koravos (San Diego), Audrey Dickinson (San Diego) and Alder Ensberg (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein is a tape roll configured to include an adhesive associated with a color-changing dye to provide the user with a visible marker for the end of the tape roll. In certain aspects, the adhesive is associated with a redox indicator. In certain aspects, the redox indicator is activated upon exposure to air."

The patent was filed on Nov. 8, 2023, under Application No. 18/388,033.
