KINGSTON, R.I.- Aug. 18, 2026-The University of Rhode Island has received $2.5 million in funding from the U.S. Office of Naval Research to advance the next phase of its Regional Innovation by Scaling Entrepreneurship via University Partnerships (RISE-UP) initiative. RISE-UP, in collaboration with URI Innovations, reinforces URI's leadership in translating research into technologies that support national security, economic growth, and workforce development.
