U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Chair of the Subcommittee on Homeland Security Appropriations, recently directly secured $4 million for a key Montgomery road project in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Homeland Security Appropriations Act. This appropriations funding will support the Maxwell Capital Gateway Project, the primary gateway connecting Interstate 65 to Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, which serves thousands of military personnel, civilian employees, students, contractors, and visitors.
Specifically, the $4 million secured by Senator Britt will be used for roadway and bridge improvements to Washington Ferry Road from US-31 to the Rear Access Gate Entrance at M...
