U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today celebrated unanimous Senate passage of the Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA 2.0) (https://www.congress.gov/119/bills/s836/BILLS-119s836rs.pdf) which would update online data privacy rules to be reflective of modern times. This legislation also takes steps to ensure America's youth are protected online, which will help combat the rapid rise of the mental health crisis facing our children and teens, fueled by outdated data practices.

COPPA 2.0 was introduced by Senators Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Edward Markey (D-Mass.), and Senator Britt is an original cosponsor.
