U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Energy and Water Development Subcommittee, celebrated a $34 million increase for the Mobile Bay in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fiscal Year 2026 Work Plan (https://www.britt.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/FY2026-OM-Work-Plan.pdf), which the Corps uses to prioritize its civil works projects and funding needs. Following advocacy from Senator Britt, this funding increase of more than 60% will allow additionally flexibility to dispose of dredged material and increase beneficial use sites.
