THE 53RD ANNUAL GOVERNOR'S CUP YACHT RACE, JULY 31 - AUG 1

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md., July 24 -- St. Mary's College of Maryland issued the following news release:

Sailors from across the region will gather July 31-Aug 1, 2026, for the 53rd AnnualGovernor's Cup Yacht Race presented by PNC Bank, the oldest and longest overnight race on the Chesapeake Bay. The beloved event will once again bring together competitors, alumni, families and waterfront enthusiasts for a weekend of racing and community celebration.



The Governor's Cup features a race from Annapolis to St. Mary's College of Maryland in St. Mary's City, connecting the state's current capital with its first capital. A Potomac Leg of the race will also be offered this year, beginning in Dahlgren, Virginia.Race registrationcloses Sunday, July 26 ...
