SALISBURY, Md., Sept. 29 -- Salisbury University issued the following news release:
When "The President's Own" United States Marine Band comes to Salisbury University in early October, it will do so with a boost from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
SU has received a $19,000 "Celebrating the Nation's 250th Birthday with Music from U.S. Military Bands" grantfrom the NEA to support the band's visit to Salisbury as part of the program "Inspiring Generations: America's 250 Years of Music and Military Service."
The project honors the historic role of military bands in American civic life while inspiring musicians, scholars, service members, and community members.
