Today, Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (WA-10) and Congressman David P. Joyce (OH-14) introduced a bipartisan Multigenerational HOMES (Housing Opportunities for Modifying Existing Structures) Act. The bill is one of a kind in that it will provide a tax credit for homeowners who renovate their homes to accommodate an elderly family member, a family member with a disability, or a family member who will be a live-in caregiver.
"This bill helps keep families under one roof at all stages of life if they choose to care for their aging family members," said Strickland. "The tax credit provides families with additional in-home care options."
