Washington, Feb. 10 -- Congressman Greg Stanton issued the following news release:
Today, U.S. Representative Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.) slammed House Speaker Mike Johnson and Republican lawmakers on the House floor for blocking a vote on his legislation ending Trump's tariff authority.
The effort led by Speaker Johnson would block the House from voting until after July 31 on legislation to end the president's emergency tariff powers under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). This marks the third time Republicans have blocked action; earlier last year, Speaker Johnson quietly pushed through provisions that blocked action until after Jan. 31.
