SFA ANIMATION STUDENTS EARN NINE AWARDS IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

NACOGDOCHES, Texas, July 28 -- Stephen F. Austin State University issued the following news release:

Malachiyah Armstrong, animation senior at Stephen F. Austin State University, earned first place in the international 2026 ACM SIGGRAPH SpaceTime competition. Armstrong was one of nine SFA students recognized in the competition.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Nine students in Stephen F. Austin State University's animation program earned awards in the 2026 ACM SIGGRAPH SpaceTime International Student Competition, including first place, a second-place tie and seven honorable mentions. The students were mentored by Benjamin Anderson, assistant professor of animation.
