SENATOR RICKETTS APPLAUDS IMPLEMENTATION OF HIS STREAMLINING RURAL HOUSING ACT

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 -- Sen. Pete Ricketts issued the following press release:

U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) applauds the implementation of his Streamlining Rural Housing Act.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently agreed to a memorandum of understanding to reevaluate environmental standards and streamline the review process for rural housing projects.

This agreement fulfills the requirements outlined in Senator Ricketts' Streamlining Rural Housing Act, which became law as part of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act in July 2026.
