Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) released the following statement after voting in favor of the War Powers Resolution introduced by Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) to prevent Trump from starting an illegal war in Cuba. The vote failed 48-50.
"With the United States engaged in President Trump's illegal, expensive, and unnecessary war with Iran, the last thing we need is disastrous conflict off our shores with Cuba.
