Today, Senator Andy Kim (D-N.J.), member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) and Ranking Member on the HSGAC Subcommittee for Disaster Management, District of Columbia, and Census, announced nearly $26 million in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Nonprofit Security Grant Program for nonprofits and faith-based organizations in New Jersey.
The funding, designed to help religious institutions and nonprofits increase security for facilities and communities, will be distributed by New Jersey's Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness to selected organizations across New Jersey later this year.
