U.S. Senator Susan Collins spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for the City of Sanford's new fire and EMS headquarters yesterday. Also in attendance at the event were Sanford City Manager Steven Buck, Deputy Mayor Maura Herlihy, Fire Chief Scott Susi, along with dozens of local fire and EMS personnel.
"One of the greatest needs in Maine is addressing our many obsolete public safety facilities. That is why I have worked hard to secure nearly $87 million in the past five years for 45 new or renovated fire stations throughout Maine.
