Today, U.S. Senator Susan Collins delivered remarks at a groundbreaking ceremony for the New Balance Foundation Boardwalk in Skowhegan. Dozens were in attendance for the event, including members of Main Street Skowhegan and the New Balance Foundation, Senator Angus King, state and local leaders, and members of the Skowhegan community.
The future boardwalk will run along the bank of the Kennebec River in downtown Skowhegan and connect to the existing footbridge, creating a riverfront promenade, public seating, and a paved ADA-compliant walkway.
