U.S. Senator Ted Budd (R-N.C.) issued the following statement after casting his vote to pass the five-bill appropriations minibus and a two-week continuing resolution for the Department of Homeland Security(DHS).
"Yesterday, I opposed a procedural vote for the appropriations package over the inclusion of several troubling earmarks. Unfortunately, not enough Senators supported stripping them out.
"While my concerns about these earmarks remain, I agree with President Trump that Congress must avert a government shutdown, and I voted to advance this bipartisan package that will benefit North Carolina's military families, infrastructure, and disaster recovery.
