U.S. Representative Hillary Scholten announced that she secured passage of $1 million in federal funding for the Krause Memorial Library in Rockford. Rep. Scholten advocated for this project to receive funding by submitting it as a FY26 Community Project Funding appropriations request and visited the library in September. The money will fund construction to increase the library's size and improve accessibility in order to meet growing community demand for library services and to promote literacy and education.
