Today, U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) chairman of the Senate Anti-Fraud Task Force, introduced legislation to codify the National Fraud Enforcement Division (NFED). By codifying the NFED in statute, the bill would make the division permanent and ensure that the federal government can continue to crack down on rampant fraud and protect taxpayer dollars for years and generations to come. This is the first piece of legislation to come out of the work of Senator Schmitt's Anti-Fraud Task Force.
