U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai'i), vice chair of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, visited the site of Halau of 'Oiwi Art in Wailuku to view the ongoing construction. The center will be dedicated to the study, practice, celebration and perpetuation of hula and associated arts and will also be used as a resilience hub for shelter and recovery in the event of a disaster.
