SAME STREET, NEW NAME: PRESS AVENUE IS NOW ELIZABETH STREET

LEXINGTON, Ky., Sept. 17 -- The University of Kentucky issued the following news release:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2026) -Press Avenue has been renamed to Elizabeth Street, to provide naming continuity between Virginia and Waller avenues.

Following the expansion of the UK HealthCare Garage (PS #8) and the roadway reconfiguration in that area, the old Press Avenue now flows directly into Elizabeth Street at the intersection of Transcript Avenue. This name change streamlines the roadway name throughout the area and provides a consistent street name along the corridor.

Street numbering remains consistent. For example, UK Transportation Services' office location, previously 721 Press Ave., will become 721 Elizabeth St. Building signage will...
