U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined the entire Senate Democratic caucus in introducing a resolution affirming that the abortion medication, mifepristone, is safe and effective. The resolution came as the Supreme Court's initial administrative stay in Louisiana v. FDA was set to expire - which would have allowed the Fifth Circuit's ruling to go into effect, threatening millions of women's access to mifepristone, even in states where abortion is legal. The Supreme Court eventually ruled to extend the stay until the case makes it fully through the legal process, allowing mifepristone to remain available via telehealth.
