Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) helped pass a bipartisan package in the Senate to address the housing crisis. The bipartisan Housing for the 21st Century Act aims to increase the amount of houses built while keeping prices low for hardworking Americans. A report last year ranked Nevada as the state with the second highest number of cost-burdened renters and homeowners, with over 50 percent of Nevada renters and homeowners paying more than 35 percent of their monthly income on rent or mortgage. Nevada also ranked last in availability of affordable housing for low-income households.
