This week, on the Senate floor, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) called on his Senate colleague to pass appropriations funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

"[DHS] funding runs out Friday at midnight," said Ricketts. "And, if Democrats allow this to happen, it won't impact ICE operations. But what it will do is interrupt FEMA. We just had a major winter storm on the East Coast and parts of the south FEMA will be interrupted if the Department of Homeland Security is not getting funded.
