Today, Congressmen Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) and Robert Garcia (D-CA), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Caucus on Peru, introduced a bipartisan resolution commemorating 200 years of official diplomatic relations between the United States and the Republic of Peru.
The resolution recognizes two centuries of enduring friendship, shared values, and expanding cooperation between the United States and Peru since the establishment of formal diplomatic ties in 1826 - one of the earliest such relationships between the United States and a South American nation.
