Washington, April 28 -- Congressman John Garamendi issued the following press release:
Today, Representative John Garamendi (CA-08) joined U.S. Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla (both D-CA), along with Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26), to announce more than $22 million in federal funding through the Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) for the Port of Richmond in Contra Costa County and the Port of Hueneme in Ventura County.
The funding the lawmakers secured will improve efficiency and safety and help support the much-needed upgrades to infrastructure at the ports. The grant program is administered by the Maritime Administration.
