Today, Congresswoman Summer L. Lee (PA-12) and Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA) sent letters to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Frontier Airlines, Smoothstack, HCA Healthcare, and CRST seeking information about the companies' use of coercive "stay-or-pay" contracts, including Training Repayment Agreement Provisions (TRAPs), which can burden workers with substantial debt for leaving their jobs. These companies have faced multiple lawsuits challenging restrictive contract terms.
