Today, U.S. Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) and U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) led Oregon's Democratic Members of Congress and ten additional House Members in a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting director Todd Lyons opposing any plans to open or expand ICE detention facilities in Oregon, including so-called "soft-sided" or repurposed facilities.
