Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) was selected by the America250 Congressional Caucus to decorate the State of Texas's scene for America's 250th Birthday Cake, a landmark commemorative project that will be displayed in Washington, D.C. for millions of visitors.
Representing Texas's proud energy heritage, Congressman Pfluger decorated an oil derrick and pumpjack made entirely from modeling chocolate and finished with edible gold paint. The decoration will be incorporated into the final cake alongside representations from all 50 states and four U.S. territories.
