Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) announced the Hanahan Fire Department has been awarded a $130,909 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to install vehicle exhaust removal systems at all three of the department's fire stations.
The funding will help protect firefighters from prolonged exposure to harmful diesel exhaust, creating a safer work environment for the first responders who risk their lives every day to protect Lowcountry families.
