Today, the House passed Congressman Mike Kennedy's (UT-03) Star-Spangled Summit Act (H.R. 4684), which directs the U.S. Forest Service to issue a special-use permit allowing the American flag to continue flying on Kyhv Peak above Provo, Utah.

In 2000, Scoutmaster Robert Collins led his troop on a hike to Kyhv Peak, near Provo, and proudly raised an American flag at its summit. What began as a patriotic gesture by the scouts evolved into an annual tradition, engendering national pride and bringing the Provo community together for more than two decades.
