Today, Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) celebrated the Department of War's announcement that Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Crane will host Indiana's first advanced nuclear Micro Modular Reactor (MMR), with installation planned no later than September 2028.
The project, executed jointly by the Army's Janus Program, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment, the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering, and the State of Indiana, will deliver reliable, around-the-clock power to one of the nation's premier warfighting innovation hubs.
