Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) released the following statement after an indictment was handed down in connection to the 2021 acid attack on Elmont resident, Nafiah Ikram.
"The unprovoked acid attack against Nafiah Ikram outside her home in Elmont five years ago was horrific and monstrous. For years, her attacker remained at large, posing a continued threat to our communities and denying the Ikram family the justice they deserve.
