Today, U.S. Congresswoman Andrea Salinas (OR-06) issued the following statement following the conclusion of the House Agriculture Committee's markup of the 2026 Skinny Farm Bill.

"The Farm Bill does not meet the needs of Oregon farmers and families. While I'm glad this bill includes provisions from my Timber Innovation for Building Rural Communities Act and takes initial steps on specialty crops, it does not come close to making up for its serious failures. It reinstates the dangerous and discredited '10am' wildfire suppression policy, fails to restore 800,000 Oregonians with their SNAP benefits, and leaves specialty crop growers behind once again.
