Today, Rep. French Hill (AR-02) and Rep. Dan Goldman (NY-10) introduced the Providing Resources and Oversight to Ensure Confidentiality of Those who serve (PROTECT) Act to strengthen data security and to prevent targeted threats against public officials. The bill directs the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop and disseminate best practices for protecting the personally identifiable information (PII) of public servants across all levels of government.
